Natural factors
- Production zone entirely within the municipality of Loazzolo, at over 400 m above sea level, on the hilly ridge between the Bormida valley and the Belbo valley.
- High-hill climate: dry and well-ventilated, with cool nights, conditions favorable to on-vine overripening and noble rot infection by Botrytis.
- The denomination's planted vineyard surface is less than two hectares, making it one of the smallest DOCs in Italy by area.
Product characteristics
