Natural factors

- The hilly relief creates a mesoclimate with cool summers and colder winters.
- Adequate sunshine without prolonged heat waves favours uniform grape ripening.
- Summer winds are a defining factor in the unique character of the ΠΓΕ Μαρτίνο appellation.
- The ΠΓΕ is located in south-eastern Φθιώτιδα, with a total vine-growing area of over 130 hectares.
Human factors
- Settlement of the area dates to the 2nd–3rd millennium BC, with a winemaking tradition attested by finds in the archaeological museum of Αταλάντη.
- Old estates are trained using the gobelet system, while newer vineyards follow single- or double-Guyot trellis systems.
