Terroir
Natural factors
- Monte Netto: an isolated promontory rising from the Pianura Padana, in the communes of Capriano del Colle and Poncarale (BS).
- The surrounding flat area has historically been characterized by a high water table and marshy soils, subsequently reclaimed.
- The relief has gently sloping sides and a flat summit, favorable to the mechanization of viticulture.
Human factors
- The vine was cultivated almost as a medicinal plant: documents from 1927 attest to the use of wine in combating pellagra in the Bresciano.
Product characteristics
- The white wines of Monte Netto display low acidity with floral and fruity aromas, characteristics linked to the microclimate and the argille soils of the promontory.
Terroir / wine link
- The predominantly argilloso soils of Monte Netto, rising from the plain without irrigation, impart to the wines chemical and physical characteristics typical of a hillside microclimate.
