Terroir
Natural factors
- Four distinct zones: moraine hills, upper plain, middle plain, and lower plain.
- Middle plain: clayey-silty and calcareous fluvioglacial deposits with siliceous sands; permeability decreases closer to the Po.
- Lower plain (7–20 m a.s.l.) on the right bank of the Po: Holocene alluvial deposits with east–west undulations corresponding to ancient riverbeds. (via Wikipedia · CC BY-SA 4.0)
Terroir / wine link
- Moraine hills with a mild, well-ventilated climate thanks to Lake Garda: the permeable moraine deposits promote drainage and groundwater regulation.
