Human factors
- Viticulture in Μεσόγεια is documented from the 4th–5th century BC, evidenced by an altar to Dionysus at the sanctuary of Brauronian Artemis.
- In 1914, the cooperative 'ΜΑΡΚΟ' was established in Μαρκόπουλο, producing 200 tonnes of wine and supplying the Attica basin.
