Terroir
Natural factors
- The volcanic massif of Roccamonfina (450 km²) is Italy's fourth largest volcano by area and fifth by altitude.
- The volcanic soils of the SW slope (Sessa Aurunca–Cellole) are deep, loose-siliceous, sub-acid, potassium-rich, and low in available phosphorus.
- Approximately one third of the territory consists of humus-rich alluvial plains; the vine-growing hillsides present slopes of less than 10–15%.
Human factors
- Native volcanic soils of the Roccamonfina massif: deep, loose-siliceous, sub-acid, potassium-rich, and phosphorus-poor.
