- Vineyards exclusively above 200 m a.s.l. throughout the entire province of Isernia (middle and upper Molise).
- Mixed lithology: Cretaceous–Oligocene calcareous-marly-cherty formations and Miocene flysch of arenaceous-marly and argillaceous-marly composition.
- Alluvial deposits in the valley floors of the Trigno, Verrino, Vandra, and Volturno rivers.
- Mediterranean climate: mean temperatures 13.5–14.8 °C, rainfall 696.8–1,067 mm, with 60% concentrated in autumn and winter.
- Deep hillside soils of fine texture and calcareous character, with slopes ranging from 2 to 25%.
