- Mean annual rainfall between 850 and 1,000 mm, concentrated mainly in winter.
- Soils derived from calcareous-dolomitic formations, basalts, and morainic and fluvial deposits of volcanic origin.
- Vineyards up to 500 m a.s.l.; on the lower and middle hillsides and valley floors, exposure is predominantly southward.
Terroir / wine link
- The mild, sub-Mediterranean climate of Valpolicella — sheltered by the Lessini mountains to the north, moderated by Lake Garda, and benefiting from southerly exposure — favours the ripening of the grapes from which Ripasso is made.
