Natural factors
- Vineyard spread across 4 communes (Asquins, Saint-Père, Tharoiseau, Vézelay) on both banks of the Cure valley, at elevations between 250 and 300 m (via Wikipedia · CC BY-SA 4.0)
- Left bank: marls and limestones of the Bathonian (Middle Jurassic); right bank: marly-clay series of the Lias (Lower Jurassic)
- Upper slopes: shallow, stony soils over limestone bedrock; lower slopes: calcareous colluvium over deep clay horizons
- Cool oceanic climate with 800 mm of rainfall per year, harsh winters (down to -10 °C) and warm summers (30 °C), with a strong continental influence
Product characteristics
- Dry white wine, pale gold in appearance, with a floral character, and great freshness and minerality on the palate
- Gains in complexity and finesse with age
