Natural factors
- Vineyards at elevations of 750–1,150 m, among the communities of Vouni, Koilani, Mandria, and Omodos.
- Steeply sloping mountain terrain at 20°–40° gradients with poor, calcareous soils.
- Terraces are constructed to shape the land and make vineyard establishment possible.
- Mild summers (21.5–24.5 °C) and mild to cool winters (5.5–7.5 °C); mean annual temperature approximately 14.5 °C.
- Mean annual rainfall approximately 750 mm, concentrated mainly from December to March; sunshine averaging approximately 7.5 hours per day.
