The winegrowing zone of the PGI Ritsona lies in the Ritsona Avlidas area of the Municipality of Chalkida, in the Regional Unit of Euboea, at an altitude of more than 30 metres.
The soils of the area are diverse, ranging from sandy, sandy loam, and loam to sandy clay and clay, with a medium texture and a mainly neutral pH.
The climate of the area is Mediterranean, with a mean annual temperature of 18.4 °C, a summer mean of 27.8 °C, and a winter mean of 10.2 °C, reaching its maximum in July and its minimum in January.
Mean annual rainfall amounts to approximately 1,193.2 mm, with a characteristic Mediterranean distribution and increased precipitation from October through April.
