• Northwestern part of Chania, vineyards from 30 m elevation, mainly on semi-mountainous slopes with a northern aspect.
• Typical μεσογειακό κλίμα with a mean annual temperature of 18.5°C and mean annual rainfall of 570 mm.
• Soils of moderate organic matter content, moderately alkaline, with variable to zero calcium carbonate content.
• The influence of winds during the summer months is among the defining factors of the uniqueness of the wines.

• Traces of wine from excavations in Κρήτη are dated to 2000 BC, with the oldest surviving wine press in the world.
