The vineyard lies between the valleys of the Garonne and the Tarn, on an alluvial plateau of the lower Tarn terrace at an elevation of around 85 metres.
The soils develop on ancient alluvial deposits carried by the Tarn and the Aveyron from the Massif Central; they are acidic, with a heterogeneous texture combining silts, sands, and clays distributed unevenly.
The landscape is broadly flat, with variations created by gently rolling rises, scarps between terraces, and mild slopes formed by streams that are tributaries of the Tarn.
The climate, oceanic in character with Mediterranean influence, receives annual rainfall of between 650 and 700 millimetres, evenly spread throughout the year except in spring, when a significant peak occurs.
The prevailing winds are oceanic westerlies, bringing cloud cover and rainfall, while the Autan wind, less frequent, is a warm, dry wind from the south-east.
The vineyard extends across 13 communes in the Tarn-et-Garonne département, between Montauban and Castelsarrasin, covering approximately 150 hectares.
