Terroir

• Hilly terrain with western and southern exposure, north and west of Pyrgos
• Soils of medium mechanical composition, slightly acidic pH, very low or zero active calcium
• Maritime μεσογειακό κλίμα with mild winters and an annual temperature range of 17–18 °C
• Rainfall of 600–800 mm/year, distributed mainly from October to May (dry summer)
• Summer winds constitute a distinctive factor in the uniqueness of the wines

• The variety Refosco was introduced to Greece in 1870 through the Mercouri Estate in the Letrines zone
• At the time of the zone's initial recognition (1993), the only permitted varieties were Refosco and Μαυροδάφνη

• The terroir (soil, climate, summer winds), combined with grape varieties and viticultural techniques, shapes the uniqueness of the wines
