Terroir

• The appellation area covers more than 300 communes, one-third of the Brittany region, across three sub-zones comprising both coastal and inland areas.
• It sits on the Armorican Massif; marshland, deep alluvial silts, and formations on sandstone and granite are excluded.
• The climate is strongly oceanic, with mild temperatures, rainfall below 1,100 mm, and elevations limited to 120 m.
• Soils are shallow, sandy or with a high proportion of coarse elements, and free from significant waterlogging.
