• The climate is sub-Pannonian, with influence that diminishes from east to west.

• Vineyards extend to approximately 210 m above sea level; lower-lying sites are at risk from spring frosts.
• The best sites face south, south-west, and south-east; north-facing exposures do not achieve satisfactory sugar levels.

• Wines range from lighter, crisp styles to rich, full-bodied reds and whites, depending on microclimate, variety, and site.
• On north-facing sites, mid-to-late-ripening varieties do not reach satisfactory sugar levels; the finest wines come from steep, south-facing slopes.
