• Area covering 40 communes in Finistère, divided into 4 sectors: the Aulne valley, Pays bigouden, Fouesnant–Odet valley, and Pont-Aven (via Wikipedia · CC BY-SA 4.0)
• Soils predominantly on granite or crystallophyllian bedrock, frequently arenized, with a minimum depth of 50 cm
• Oceanic climate: altitude below 100 m, mean temperature above 10 °C, rainfall below 1,100 mm
• Undulating relief providing slopes sheltered from the prevailing winds, preventing premature fruit drop in autumn
