- Climate is μεσογειακό with pronounced ηπειρωτικό τάσεις, mean temperature 17 °C and annual rainfall of 650 mm.
- Vineyard soils are of medium mechanical composition with a neutral pH.
- Vineyards are situated on slopes at 200–400 m elevation, with upland exceptions reaching 700 m, within the Municipality of Elassona.
- The microclimate is shaped by the influence of Όλυμπος and the prevailing summer winds.

Human factors
- During the Ottoman period there were extensive vineyards in Tsaritsani, with a tithe tax levied on wines.
- In 1975 the Collective Vineyard of Tsaritsani–Aetorachis was founded, a cooperative with approximately 360 members and 2,600 cultivable stremma.
