Terroir

• Climate is μεσογειακό with pronounced ηπειρωτικό τάσεις, mean temperature 17 °C and annual rainfall of 650 mm.
• Vineyard soils are of medium mechanical composition with a neutral pH.
• Vineyards are situated on slopes at 200–400 m elevation, with upland exceptions reaching 700 m, within the Municipality of Elassona.
• The microclimate is shaped by the influence of Όλυμπος and the prevailing summer winds.
• The varied topography and soil composition are considered decisive factors in wine quality.

• During the Ottoman period there were extensive vineyards in Tsaritsani, with a tithe tax levied on wines.
• In 1975 the Collective Vineyard of Tsaritsani–Aetorachis was founded, a cooperative with approximately 360 members and 2,600 cultivable stremma.
