Terroir

• The winegrowing zone in the Municipal District of Klimenti, Municipality of Sikyon, extends across altitudes ranging from 700 to 1,000 metres.
• During the growing season, ambient temperatures range from 20 °C to 30 °C, with sufficient sunshine to meet the required heliothermal index for the cultivated grape varieties.
• The area is situated on the upland plateau of the Stymfalia valley, a mountainous location linked to the myth of Heracles and the Stymphalian Birds.

• The area has produced wine since mythological times, when, according to tradition, it yielded a red wine known as the 'Blood of Heracles' from the Agiorgitiko variety, which continues to be cultivated today in the mountain community of Klimenti.
• The vineyards and winery of the Giouli estate have followed organic-product certification rules under the organisation D.I.O. since 1997, and under USDA NOP standards since 2003.

• The uniqueness of the PGI Klimenti wines derives from the distinctive characteristics of the area — soils, climate, and the influence of winds during summer — combined with the cultivated varieties and the viticultural practices applied.
