Terroir

• Vineyards at elevations of 700–1,000 m on the upland plateaus of the Stymphalia valley.
• Growing-season temperatures of 20–30 °C with sufficient sunshine to meet the required heliothermal index.
• The diversity of soils, combined with climate and grape varieties, shapes the quality characteristics of the wines.

• The area has been regarded as a wine-growing region since the era of Cleisthenes, with a long tradition of red wine from Agiorgitiko.
• The Gkiouli estate has held organic certification since 1997 (D.I.O.) and since 2003 under the USDA National Organic Program (NOP).
