Mirabelle de Lorraine
Terroir
Natural factors
- The appellation area spans four departments in Lorraine (Meuse, Moselle, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Vosges), within the sedimentary Lorraine region on the eastern edge of the Paris Basin.
- The relief is defined by limestone cuesta ridges (Côtes de Meuse, de Moselle, infraliasique, de Lorraine) separated by plateaus and depressions.
- The climate is temperate continental: cold winters (mean below 3 °C), cool summers (around 18 °C in July), sunny autumns, and a marked diurnal temperature range. (via Wikipedia · CC BY-SA 4.0)
- Orchards and vineyards are sited on marl slopes facing east and south-east and on the flanks of outlier hills; a foehn effect off the ridges limits rainfall.
