Terroir
Natural factors
- Hillside substrates dominated by arenaceous turbidites, yielding coarse-loam soils with an acidic reaction.
- A calcareous-marly component is also present, producing fine-textured soils with a neutral to sub-alkaline reaction.
- Vineyards on steep slopes (35–50%), with predominantly south-east-facing exposures, at elevations between 200 and 400 m a.s.l.
- Huglin Index ~1920 °C (range 1720–2100): a warm climate with significant interannual variability.
- Rainfall concentrated in winter (maximum 110 mm in December) and a pronounced summer drought (minimum 16 mm in July).
