Terroir

• The vineyards are located south of the city of Plovdiv, at the foot of the northern slopes of the Rhodopes, at a mean elevation of approximately 200 metres above sea level.
• The climate of the area is transitional continental, and the mean annual precipitation reaches 595 millimetres.
• The total heat summation for the period with mean daily temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius, covering the months of April through October, is 4,350 degree-days, and the mean daily temperature of the warmest month is 24 degrees Celsius.
• The soil types in the area include rendzinas, defined as humus-carbonate soils, as well as slightly to moderately sandy-clay, alluvial meadow, and deluvial meadow soils.

• The grape varieties permitted for the production of red and rosé wines under the protected designation of origin are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Mavrud.
• Vineyard training systems employed include Umbrella, Moser, and mid-trunk double-arm cordon, with pruning being mixed and short, at a load of up to 54 buds per vine.

• The wine has a deep ruby-red colour, with a distinctive bouquet and palate resulting from the combination of the tannic grip of Mavrud, the warmth and softness of Merlot, and the body and fruit aromatics of Cabernet Sauvignon.
• The nose brings together forest fruits, blackberry, blackcurrant, and vanilla notes derived from barrel ageing, while the palate is full-bodied and harmonious with a long finish of sweet vanilla, also owed to barrel ageing.

• The mild climate of the northern slopes of the Middle Rhodopes, together with favourable soil conditions and long-standing winemaking traditions, provides the basis for producing a distinctive blended wine from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Mavrud.
