Terroir

• The relief of the area shows open horizons, dominated by flat or gently rolling terrain, with hills of variable slope.
• The vines are grown on calcareous soils with a significant proportion of clay and sand.
• Average temperatures range from winter lows of around 5 ºC to summer highs of around 35 ºC, with a minimal risk of frost.
• Average annual rainfall is approximately 600 litres per square metre, with precipitation concentrated in November, December and March, and the albariza soils typical of the area retain moisture and prevent evapotranspiration.
• Two winds predominate in the region: the levante, blowing from inland, dry and warm, and the poniente, coming from the ocean and bringing a high degree of humidity, acting as a moderating factor especially in summer.

• Vine-growing and winemaking in the Jerez district date back to Phoenician times, more than three thousand years ago, as part of the area's age-old history.
• The designation “Vino de la Tierra de Cádiz” was officially recognised by the Order of 29 April 2005 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Junta de Andalucía.
• The wines are made with red varieties such as Syrah, Monastrell, Merlot, Tintilla de Rota, Petit Verdot, Garnacha Tinta and Tempranillo, and white varieties such as Palomino, Moscatel, Macabeo and Pedro Ximénez. (via Wikipedia · CC BY-SA 4.0)
