Terroir

• Altopiano delle Murge: Cretaceous calcareo-dolomitic rocks, with karst phenomena and a fractured structure that results in the absence of surface water.
• Relief: elevations up to 686 m a.s.l. (Torre Disperata) in the north-western portion of the Murge; the Apennines provide shelter from westerly winds, while cold easterly winds impart a continental character in winter.
