Natural factors
- A loessic substrate (3–40 m thick) overlying ancient pre-Paleozoic to Tertiary bedrock forms the geological foundation of the vineyards.
- Zonal soils of the mollisol type — cernoziom, kastanozem, and cambic cernoziom — rich in calcium carbonate.
- A temperat-continentală climate with influență pontică: mean annual temperature ~11 °C, absolute multi-year temperature amplitude exceeding 75 °C, and rainfall below 400 mm per year.
- The highest helio-thermal resources in the country: solar radiation >120–125 kcal/cm², sunshine hours >2,200, and cumulative positive temperatures of 4,000–4,200 °C per year.
- Varied relief: a tabular plateau (<200–300 m) in the south and hilly-to-upland terrain (100–467 m) in the north, sheltering viticultural depressions.
Product characteristics
- White and rosé wines: yellow-green to golden or salmon-pink in colour, with a velvety palate, and floral, honey, rose, citrus, and honeycomb notes that develop further with ageing.
