Terroir

• The vineyards are situated in the Shumen Lowland, located in the south-eastern part of the Danube Plain.
• The climate is moderately continental with hot summers and cold winters, with some influence from the proximity of the Black Sea.
• North-westerly and north-easterly winds are typical for the region.
• The total heat summation for the period with mean daily temperatures above 10 °C (April–October) is approximately 3,500 °C, and the mean annual precipitation is 660 mm.
• The soil types on which the vineyards are situated are dark grey forest soils of sandy and heavy sandy-clay texture.

• The permitted training systems for vineyards producing the PDO wine Dragoevo include Ombrella, Moser, and medium-trunk double-arm cordon.
• Vine pruning is carried out as a combination of mixed and short pruning, with a load of up to 54 buds per vine, and plantings are established at a maximum density of 450 vines per decare.

• The white wines have an intense aroma of citrus fruits, nuances of flowers and minerality, a developed bouquet and freshness on the palate, and a persistent fruity finish.
• The red wines have a fine, full aroma of red fruits combined with chocolate, vanilla, and spice, a full-bodied palate impressive in volume, and a persistent, gentle finish.

• The moderately continental climate, the slopes of the Dragoevo hills, the influence of the Black Sea, and the dark grey sandy soils, together with the constraints imposed by human factors, favour the production of white wines with an intense aroma of citrus fruits and red wines with a fine, full aroma of red fruits.
