- Vineyards from 10 m to 600 m elevation, on the slopes of three mountain massifs (Telethrio, Dirfys, Ohi) and on the plains.
Human factors
- Viticulture on Euboea is documented from Homer, who described Histiaea as 'grape-bearing'.
- In the 19th century, Kymi exported wine primarily to France, accumulating wealth from agricultural trade.
Product characteristics
- White ΠΓΕ Euboea wines display a pale green to lightly golden colour, with aromas of citrus, flowers and ripe fruit, and a palate of adequate body.
- Red ΠΓΕ Euboea wines display a deep red colour with purple hues in youth, notes of blackcurrant, cherry and pepper, soft tannins and a persistent finish.
