Terroir

• The largest vineyard areas in the Small Carpathians are situated on loamy-stony sediments derived from granite weathering, with crystalline schists occasionally forming part of the substrate as well.
• The soils exhibit a marked deficiency in phosphorus and magnesium, locally also in calcium, and the granites are additionally characterised by low concentrations of trace elements such as copper, zinc, chromium, nickel, lead, and vanadium.
• The mean annual air temperature in the delimited area is 9.6 °C, rising to 16.3 °C during the growing season, and the sum of active temperatures over the growing season reaches 2,920 °C.
• Mean annual precipitation amounts to 650 mm, of which 400 mm falls during the growing season, and mean annual sunshine duration is 2,200 hours, of which 1,550 hours occur during the growing season.
• The altitude of the delimited area is up to 300 m above sea level, the minimum daily air temperature is 8.4 °C, and slope gradients range from 0 to 30 degrees.

• Labels reading 'Karpathen perle' from the Champagnerfabrik M. Karpáti company date from the period 1916–1918 and are documented by the Pezinok City Museum, attesting to the product's origin from this territory.
• The change in political and economic conditions after 1989 enabled the renewal of Karpatská perla production by the current generation of the Šebo and Záruba winemaking families.

• The colour of the wine varies by variety: white wines display pale yellow to green hues, rosé wines are pink to orange-pink, and red wines range from red and red-violet to red-brown.
• At normal pressure and temperature, the product is a clear liquid mixture of water, ethanol, and other substances including glycerol, organic acids, wine tannins, and colouring matter.
