Natural factors
- Hilly-to-flat relief at 150–200 m a.s.l. at the foothills of the Balkan range, east of the Арбанашкото plateau.
- умереноконтинентален климат with rapid spring warming and autumn cooling; cumulative temperature sum April–October ~3,700–3,820 °C.
- Natural air drainage makes late spring frosts and damaging winter freezes a rare occurrence.
- Soils: heavily leached черноземи (slightly eroded, mildly clayey) and dark grey/grey forest soils (heavy sandy-clayey).
- The Арбанашкото plateau blocks westerly winds and ensures a favourable temperature regime for the district.
Product characteristics
- White wines: fruity aromas of southern fruits; palate fresh, soft, and balanced.
- Red wines: deep colour, aromas of dark forest fruits, palate rounded and fresh with soft tannins.
