Terroir
Natural factors
- Continental climate: hot summers, cold winters, annual precipitation ~600 mm, cumulative temperature sum over the growing season 3,850 °C.
- Soil types: moderately leached черноземи — ranging from non-eroded to severely eroded.
- Льос substratum: light calcareous soils overlying a thick льос layer on the high plateau of the Danube River.
- The soil-climatic conditions result in grape sugar content above 21% and acidity of 7–9 g/l.
Product characteristics
- Colour: ruby-red; bouquet with hints of dried fruit — a reflection of calcareous soils over a льос layer and умереноконтинентален климат.
Terroir / wine link
- Calcareous черноземи over a льос layer yield grapes with sugar content >21% and acidity of 7–9 g/l, giving wines with an alcohol level of approximately 12.5–13% abv.
- The excellent air drainage of the Danube plateau under умереноконтинентален климат (summer mean 23 °C, 600 mm annual rainfall) enables full ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon.
