Terroir

• The vineyards in the lands of the villages of Dalboki, Oryahovitsa, Bratya Kunchevi, and Kolena are situated at the foot of the southern slopes of Sredna Gora.
• The average altitude of the vineyards ranges from 170 to 260 metres above sea level.
• The terrain is gently sloping, ranging from 3° to 6°, slightly undulating, and in places levels off into flat ground.
• The climate is moderately continental, and the average annual precipitation totals between 510 and 625 mm.
• The cumulative heat summation for the period with mean daily temperatures above 10 °C (April–October) is 3,815 °C, and the mean daily temperature of the warmest month is 23 °C.
• The soil types in the area are colluvial-stony, medium to heavy sandy-clay, alluvial-colluvial meadow, heavy sandy-clay, and leached cinnamon forest soils of medium sandy-clay texture.

• The authorised wine-grape varieties for the production of red wines and rosé under the protected designation of origin are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
• The training systems used in the vineyards are Umbrella, Moser, and mid-trunk double-arm cordon, with pruning carried out as mixed and short pruning, with a load of up to 54 buds per vine.

• Wines from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are deeply coloured with characteristic aromas of red fruits and spices, while on the palate they are velvety and full-bodied, with perceptible resinous notes and a persistent finish.

• The distinctive climate of the area, shaped by the proximity of Sredna Gora, which blocks cold air currents from the north and ensures good ventilation during summer, together with the favourable soil conditions and the constraints imposed by human practices, allows Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to express their characteristic qualities.
