Terroir

• A Mediterranean climate predominates, with mild average temperatures throughout the year and a dry humidity regime across the geographical area.
• The predominant soils are reddish clays, commonly known as barros, composed of Miocene sediments with a significant proportion of limestone.
• In some areas, the quantity of limestone present in the soil gives it a whitish colour known as caleños.

• The edaphoclimatic conditions have shaped a vineyard traditionally trained as bush vines and dry-farmed, with low planting densities and a low number of phytosanitary treatments.
• Sparkling wines and lightly sparkling wines are produced from base wines, principally from the Macabeo, Parellada, Garnacha Tinta, and Tempranillo varieties, generally by the traditional method.

• The red wines are rich in tannin and colouring matter, with good alcoholic strength, adequate acidity, and a fruity aromatic character.
• The white and rosé wines stand out for a very distinctive fruity aromatic character; they are soft and well-balanced with medium-high acidity.

• The low rainfall during critical periods of vine cultivation considerably reduces the risk of cryptogamic diseases, directly influencing the final quality of the wines.
