- West of the Fiora, marnose, marnoso-pelitiche, and pelitiche formations prevail; at the centre, Quaternary conglomerates with sands, pebbles, and argille outcrop.
- Average altitude 290 m a.s.l., ranging from ~30 m (Marsiliana) to ~800 m (Elmo, Sorano); average south-east aspect, slope ~5%.
