Terroir

• The vineyards are located in the northern part of the Danubian hilly plain, close to the Danube River, within the lands of Svishtov and the villages of Byala Voda and Sovata.
• The region is characterised by a continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters, and the terrain is hilly.
• Annual precipitation totals approximately 540 mm, and the heat summation for the period with mean daily temperatures above 10°C often reaches 4,100°C.
• The mean daily temperature of the warmest month in the region reaches 24°C.

• The authorised wine-grape varieties for the production of wine with the protected designation of origin Svishtov are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Gamza.
• Vine training systems include Ombrela, Moser, and a mid-trunk double-arm cordon, with mixed and short pruning and a bud load of up to 54 buds per vine.

• The wine produced in the region is characterised by a deep ruby colour, a distinctive bouquet with raspberry notes, and a harmonious, soft, and supple palate.
• The grapes used for the production of the wine reach a sugar content above 21% and an acidity of 7 to 8 g/dm³.

• The proximity of the Danube River and the hilly terrain with leached and calcareous chernozems over a loess base favour the development of a deep, vigorous root system in the vines, ensuring that even during the hottest summer days the plant does not suffer from moisture deficit.
