Terroir
Natural factors
- Relief of Danubian terraces with south-facing slopes, formed through the accumulation of loessoid deposits and the uplift of the Burnaz Plain.
- Dominant soils: clay-sandy cernoziom, deluvial, proluvial, and argilloiluvial types, with high moisture retention and preservation of cold temperatures.
- Exceedingly temperate-continental climate, with very hot summers, cold winters with blizzards, and a high heat balance (~127 kcal/cm²/year).
- Wind regime dominated by north-easterly and easterly winds, followed by south-westerly and westerly winds, with no fixed dominant seasonal direction.
- Mean annual sunshine ~2,250 hours (≈1,600 in the warm semester), favouring slow ripening and the accumulation of sugars and primary aromas.
Product characteristics
- Young white wines: freshness, fruitiness, floral aromas (acacia, linden) and citrus notes with persistent acidity.
- Red wines aged in barriques: full body, unctuousness, velvety texture, and a bouquet of dried plums and cinnamon.
Terroir / wine link
- Argilloiluvial cernoziom soils favour velvety, rounded wines with lower acidity and pronounced fruity and floral aromas.
