Terroir

• Vineyard soils predominantly comprising high-stoniness calcareous debris with good drainage; valley floors also feature morenic deposits and fluvial gravels.
• Differentiated geological matrices: porfido in the Valle di Cembra, basalt in Isera/Mori/Brentonico, micaceous scisti in the Valsugana.

• Viticulture in Trentino documented from the Bronze Age: pile-dwelling grape seeds from Ledro (1800–1600 BC) and a Rhaeto-Etruscan situla from the 4th century BC found at Cembra.
