Terroir

• The zone is situated in the valley of the Adige river, bounded by the Lessinia plateau, the Monte Baldo range, and Lake Garda, with rugged slopes that recall the forms of great canyons.
• The hillsides are characterised by terraces both of alluvial origin and built by the winegrowers, and are for the most part planted with vines.
• The sloping soils have a high stone content that allows rapid drainage of rainwater, preventing waterlogging, and are rich in calcareous rocks and mineral salts with a high component of sharp-edged siliceous flakes.
• The climate of the zone is typical of the pre-Alpine and mountain belt, with cold winters and cool-to-temperate summers, and with large diurnal temperature ranges, especially in summer and autumn.
• The sandy soils of the valley, with their component of sharp-edged siliceous flakes, have allowed many Enantio vines — some over a century old — to survive the phylloxera that devastated European vineyards between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

• The Enantio variety is already mentioned by Roman writers of the first century AD who, speaking of wild vines north of Verona, refer to 'a wild vine called Enantio'.

• Enantio is a full-bodied wine with tannins in balance with warm, lightly spiced flavours, dry, fresh, and supple on the palate, with notes of wild berries and spice.
• Casetta has an intense ruby-red colour and an aromatic profile with notes of plum and marasca cherry, which with bottle development gains hints of cinnamon, tobacco, and musk.

• The south-facing exposure of the terraces encourages in red grapes the accumulation of acids and sugars, as well as a rich polyphenolic and anthocyanic profile even at medium to high altitudes.
