Terroir

• Viticulture documented from the late 12th century; by 1752 the vineyard was the primary agricultural product, surpassing cereals and other crops.
• Traditional training method: high-canopy parrales along the rivers Miño, Barbaña, and Loña, replaced by free-standing vines following the phylloxera crisis.
