Terroir

• The vineyards are located in the south-eastern part of the Danubian hilly plain, characterised by a moderately continental climate.
• The average annual precipitation in the region is 600–650 mm.
• The total heat summation for the period with mean daily temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius, covering the months from April to October, reaches 3,500 degrees Celsius.
• The soils in the region are predominantly grey forest soils, sandy-clay in texture, as well as calcareous chernozems, classified as shallow to moderately deep.

• The permitted grape varieties for white wines are Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cherven Misket, Dimyat, Traminer, and Rkatsiteli, and for red wines — Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
• The vines are trained using the Umbrella, Moser, or mid-trunk double-arm cordon systems, with a combination of mixed and short pruning and a load of up to 54 buds per vine.

• The red wines display vivid colour, a pronounced aroma of red forest fruits, a light and elegant body, fresh fruity acidity, and ageing potential.

• The basin formed by the hills of the Shumen Plateau and the slopes of the Preslav and Dragoevo mountains, cut through by the Kamchia and Vrana rivers, creates a specific climate that favours the production of full-bodied white wines that are at the same time fresh and supple, with a developed bouquet of ripe tropical fruit aromas, as well as red wines with vivid colour, a light and elegant body, and a full, balanced palate.
